Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has issued a stern warning to employees who are reluctant to comply with the company’s return-to-office mandate. In a recording of a company meeting obtained by Insider, Jassy stated that “it’s probably not going to work out for you” if employees refuse to adhere to the policy. Since May, Amazon has required corporate employees to be present in the office three days a week, a move that has faced resistance from some staff members. Expressing his frustration, Jassy emphasized during the meeting that non-compliance could result in job termination, as reported by the online news site.

Last month, Bloomberg reported that certain corporate employees may need to relocate in order to meet the three-day mandate. The morale at Amazon has suffered following the layoff of approximately 27,000 employees. In May, a group of personnel from the company’s Seattle headquarters staged a walkout in protest of the return-to-office policy.

Amazon spokesperson Brad Glasser confirmed Jassy’s comments in an email to Insider. The company, however, declined to provide immediate further comment on the matter.
