Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has issued a warning to employees who are resistant to the company’s return-to-office mandate, stating that “it’s probably not going to work out for you.” This statement was revealed in a recording of a company meeting obtained by Insider.

Since May, Amazon has implemented a policy requiring corporate employees to be present in the office three days a week. However, this decision has not been well-received by some staff members. Expressing his frustration with those who were not taking the mandate seriously, Jassy made it clear during the meeting that non-compliance could result in job termination, as reported by the online news site.

Last month, Bloomberg reported that certain corporate employees would need to relocate in order to adhere to the three-day mandate. This requirement, along with the recent layoffs of approximately 27,000 employees, has negatively impacted morale within the company. In May, a group of personnel from Amazon’s Seattle headquarters even staged a walkout to protest the return-to-office policy.

Amazon spokesperson Brad Glasser confirmed Jassy’s comments in an email to Insider. However, the company declined to provide immediate further comment on the matter.
