In a surprising turn of events, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has accused Amazon’s attorneys of employing misdirection tactics to slow down its Prime inquiry. This allegation, revealed in a 92-page amended complaint filed by the FTC on Wednesday, claims that Amazon’s legal team nearly caused investigators to overlook crucial documents.

The FTC’s lawsuit, which has been ongoing for three months, accuses the e-commerce giant of intentionally creating obstacles for customers attempting to cancel their $14.99-per-month Prime subscription. The Prime service offers customers various benefits, including free delivery.
