In a surprising twist, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has accused Amazon’s attorneys of playing games to hinder its Prime investigation. According to a recently filed 92-page amended complaint, the FTC claims that Amazon’s legal team deliberately slowed down the inquiry, almost causing investigators to overlook crucial documents.
The FTC’s lawsuit, which has been ongoing for three months, alleges that Amazon purposely made it excessively challenging for customers to cancel their $14.99-per-month Prime subscription—a service that offers free delivery and various other benefits.
