Amazon.com has announced that it will be hosting Prime Big Deal Days in October, following the success of last month’s record-breaking Prime Day sales event. The promotion will be available to Prime members in the U.S., Canada, and 17 other countries. However, Amazon has not yet provided details on the specific deals or dates for the sale.

This is the second time that Amazon has run two major Prime sales promotions in a calendar year, with last year’s Prime Early Access Sale taking place in October. The company reported that the first day of this year’s Prime Day promotion was its biggest sales day ever, with revenues reaching $12.7 billion in the U.S. alone, a 6.1% increase from the previous year.

While Amazon’s success during Prime Day is undeniable, other retailers like Target and Walmart also ran overlapping promotions in July. Andrew Lipsman, principal analyst at Insider Intelligence, noted that Walmart’s decision to counter-program directly against Amazon with its Walmart+ week was significant. He suggested that Amazon may consider expanding its sales event calendar to include a spring home improvement event, featuring products from Home Depot, Lowe’s, Wayfair, and other retailers.

As Amazon continues to thrive during its annual sales events, speculation grows about the possibility of expanding its promotional calendar even further. With summer, fall, and winter holidays already covered, a spring event focused on home and garden products could be a logical next step for the e-commerce giant.
