Amazon is set to expand its fleet of electric vans in Germany with the addition of over 300 new vehicles from Rivian. These vans will join the thousands of electric vans already in operation in Europe, including more than 1,000 in Germany alone. To support this growing fleet, Amazon has installed thousands of charging stations at its facilities across Europe.

The custom electric delivery vans from Rivian are a result of Amazon’s partnership with the company, which was announced in 2019. This partnership was part of Amazon’s commitment to The Climate Pledge, an initiative aimed at achieving net-zero carbon emissions across its operations by 2040.

After successfully launching the custom electric delivery vans in the United States last summer, Amazon now has over 3,000 vans delivering packages in more than 500 cities and regions. Looking ahead, the company has ambitious plans to have 100,000 electric delivery vehicles from Rivian on the roads globally by 2030. This move is expected to have a significant positive impact on carbon emissions, saving millions of metric tons per year.
