Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has issued a warning to employees who are unwilling to comply with the company’s return-to-office mandate. In a recording of a company meeting obtained by Insider, Jassy stated that “it’s probably not going to work out for you” if employees refuse to adhere to the policy. Starting in May, Amazon implemented a requirement for corporate employees to be present in the office three days a week, which has caused some discontent among staff. Jassy expressed frustration during the meeting, emphasizing that non-compliance could result in job loss. Bloomberg previously reported that certain employees may need to relocate to meet the three-day mandate. Since Amazon laid off approximately 27,000 employees, morale within the company has suffered. In May, a group of personnel from the Seattle headquarters staged a walkout in protest of the return-to-office policy. Amazon spokesperson Brad Glasser confirmed Jassy’s comments in an email to Insider, while the company declined to provide immediate additional comment.
