In a surprising turn of events, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has accused Amazon’s attorneys of using misdirection to slow down its Prime inquiry. This allegation came to light in a recent court filing by the FTC, which also revealed that this tactic nearly caused investigators to overlook crucial documents.

The FTC’s claims were made in a 92-page amended complaint filed on Wednesday. The lawsuit, which has been ongoing for the past three months, accuses Amazon of intentionally making it excessively challenging for customers to cancel their $14.99-per-month Prime subscription. This subscription offers customers various benefits, including free delivery.
